Here’s how the final illustration came out:

From beginning…

…to End.
I haven’t written about it nearly as much as I originally intended to, but that doesn’t mean that work hasn’t been done, that progress hasn’t been made. I’m happy to announce that I’m entering the final stages of this Oh-So-Super-Secret project. After hundreds of sketches, drawings, scans, and revisions I’m ready to start the final illustrations. I’m very proud of the work that Chad Jarrah, the author, and I have done and I’m sure that this is going to be magnificent… but what does that mean?

Here are some Oh-So-Super-Secret sample sketches from the book. (Please be warned, your eyeballs will self-destruct after viewing this post.)

All’s quiet on the blogging front recently, but not for lack of content. Today I bring you this: a glimpse into the Super Secret Children’s Book Illustration Project that so incredibly Super Secret that I’m publically sharing it on my web site. (That’s not meant to be funny… seriously, the number of visitors here is just that low.)
Here’s three (3) super secret secrets I’m willing to share about this Secret Super Book:
1) I’m working with author Chad Jarrah, who has written an excellent story
2) The main character is named “Beas”
3) The illustrations are being done entirely in stick figure, which is going to look awesome but will make the major motion picture adaptation and inevitable line of action figures very difficult.
Without further ado:
None of these are finished products as I’m still experimenting with the style, composition, medium, text, and the kitchen sink.
More to come.
