Update Again: I think I’ve fixed it the problem now. The cause being a conflict with the old gallery plugin. This one works now, but all the other galleries on this site will be dead until I update them. Ugh.

Update: Though it was working fine for a while, the new gallery plugin is now causing problems. Figures. It’ll stay deactivated until I can fix it. In other words, the purty gallery that was in this post isn’t viewable.

To the 1.8 of you who may be interested (Lexi counts as 1.6… I’m not sure who the other 0.2 is), I’ve been tinkering with a new plugin to organize and display my artworks. Now I’ll be able to add more data about each work, like the materials, years, and sizes. Here’s a sample:

…with all sorts of thesis stuff. I’m working against a deadline, May 23rd at 4pm to be exact.

But progress is totally being made. I just completed my first full draft today and mailed it off to the committee so they can tear it into tiny shreds.

But I know my committee members are busy busy people, especially with the end of the school year coming up. So to help save them time and to speed up the editing process, I included this handy-dandy checklist of things that might need more revising:

With all the hubbub of this thesis nonsense I completely overlooked jschnapp.com’s natal day, so I thought I’d hastily slap together a post to make up for my callousness and hopefully my site’s anger will falter a little and she’ll finally unlock the door because please, baby, it’s cold and raining and you know I love you.

A few thoughts…

I’m not stopping this site any time soon. I still have plenty of typing left in me and there are many things I hope to write out here. However, this site is going to have to change. Once I’ve finished my degree, the place will get a spiffy redesign. I do like the current theme, but I feel it’s too sloppy (code-wise), too constraining (content-wise), and too confusing (navigation-wise). With the redesign, the content will get a redesign too. Don’t worry, the artwork isn’t going anywhere, but hopefully I can open this place up to a greater range of possibilities.

As PR for MFA thesis exhibitions, an email is sent out, with the postcard image and some info, to the entire SPAS* mailing list.

I’m sad to say that the commenting system is currently out of order. I’m thinking the problem has something to do with the last WordPress release that I upgraded to I don’t know how long ago. There’s a new release coming out shortly so we’ll see if that fixes anything.

Okay, okay, I do realize that 1000 is peanuts in internet terms, but I’ll take it any way I can get it.
