Since picking up the camera again, I’ve been obsessed with these dead, white vines stuck to the fence in my back yard. They’ve managed to survive the ice and snow and wind of the Rochester winter, which is pretty amazing. I’ve returned to them multiple times but I’ve struggled to photograph them as I see them in my mind—pen and ink drawings floating in the air, like some kind of three dimensional calligraphy:
